Kinetic Specimens is a project in which I was tasked with animating a traditional type specimen sheet, maintaining authenticity to the typeface’s voice while reimagining its energy and personality.
Concept
Viroqua is a modern re-interpretation of the wedge serif typeface Kandal (1994). I chose this font in particular due to its flexibility, branching into both the classical and contemporary worlds. I created an animation reminiscent of the design of traditional newspaper formats, using energy and motion to bring the font to life and showcase its capabilities.
