Bayou City Art Festival
Deliverables
The Bayou City Art Festival is a bi-annual event held in downtown Houston to commemorate the work of over 300 artists who all hope to share their story through their work. For over 50 years, the Art Colony Association Inc. has supported local non-profit organizations by showcasing the diverse portfolio of hundreds of creatives. “MOME 206 Assignment 01” is a project that tasked me to create a promotional animation for an upcoming event, and I chose to do the Bayou City Art Festival because it reflects the artistic beauty and creativity of Houston.
Concept
The goal of this project is to reimagine Texas’s culture and iconography in a way that is both faithful to Houston’s roots while also drawing in a more contemporary and diverse audience. The initial concept is to create a promotional piece that encapsulates the fluidity of the creative process, referencing both Texas’s natural wildlife and Houston’s ever-evolving art scene. I chose to create visuals that combined both geometry and fluidity as a representation of Houston’s wildlife and ever-growing metropolitan.
