Severance Title Sequence
Deliverables
“Title Sequence Design” is a project in which I recreated a title sequence from either a film or a television series. I chose Apple TV’s Severance to recreate because of its unique visual aesthetic and interpretation of corporate work culture.
Concept
This was my first time experimenting with cinematography and creating a professionally filmed title sequence. I wanted to reimagine Severance’s title sequence in a way that felt authentic to the original series while reimagining its atmosphere in a whole new context. I focused on amplifying the show’s cooler tones, using moody blue lighting compared to the original title sequence’s fluorescent white lights. As the music picks up, I plan to contrast footage of giant office supplies with miniature furniture, creating a rather outlandish environment where the characters feel minuscule and isolated. By the end of this title sequence, I hope to pique the audience’s interest in the show by subtly using iconography found throughout the series without revealing too much at once.
